Mass Effect: New Earth is officially opened to the public. I was able to check it out for the first time after the official opening and all I can say is that words can't even describe how amazing this attraction is! The ride is outstanding and something everyone has to check out when given the opportunity. A huge thanks goes out to everyone who brought it together and made this attraction become what it is! *SPOILERS ARE IN THIS POST*

The outside facade of Mass Effect: New Earth still has its amazing banners advertising the ride! I have to admit, it is a great replacement to hide the unused side of the theater, but something cool that could've been used is to keep these banners up, but remove the stairs and current cement there to put more queue for extremely long lines.
The current queue can contain a solid 2 hour wait if full and the park could definitely see lines that bad during Halloween Haunt or even Saturdays in the summer. One way they could definitely improve on, is adding a shaded cover for the queue outside so guests don't complain about the heat especially on sun-blazing days.
As riders approach the doors to the actual theater, they are shown a short clip based on the Mass Effect characters as they welcome them into their Mass Relay Getaways (MRG) and soon soaring into the new planet of Terra Nova. Two speakers begin talking in the TV and as they finish describing the various activities at Terra Nova, a news broadcaster sends an urgent message about the creatures that are attacking Terra Nova to kind of give a quick synopsis about what is about to happen during the attraction. I really love it as it helps riders understand what they are about to do inside and I think it makes a great part of the theming too!
Mass Effect: New Earth has by far one of the best themes out of all the park's attractions! The queue has really great theming to give the story about Mass Effect game. The park has also placed 2 life-size statues of game characters and there is a constant fog being released about every 10 minutes that gives a cool look to the statues.
After riders have left the theater, they are taken into where the old arcade was located, however, I haven't been too happy about how this area turned out. I did like how they took away the plainness on the walls though. I feel like the park, should've placed a store themed to the game/ride here. There is so much space that it would simply look great. I would love to see the store selling t-shirts of the game and cool souvenirs.
During the Mass Effect: New Earth journey, riders are taken to a holographic representation of the galaxy and shown from current California's Great America. The HD LED graphics are outstanding and the visual effects almost make it feel real including all the on-ride effects! As riders check out the galaxy, they are then launched into the galaxy and fly their way through space and even hit a few asteroids here and then. When the shuttle is struck by an asteroid, a small bump emerges from the seat to give it a realistic feel and a puff of air blowing at riders when they are flying through space. After riders have reached a shuttle, they are sent in light years to Terra Nova planet. Then, riders approach the planet and the touring area. Once all seems calm, the pilot is alerted of the creatures taking over the site. Then, the shuttle riders are on crashes and that's where the fun begins! As the shuttle is vertically dropping off a cliff, smells of pine trees emerge from the seats to give a unique experience. Then, the riders collide with a sharp twig that causes a complete halt and a creature runs up to them and opens its mouth "screaming" at them. While they are screamed at, squirts of water gets blown into their face to represent the nasty saliva and a terrible smell emerges from the seats. Riders continue to battle these creatures that are taking over. Once the red-eyed creature has been hit at the red eye, riders are immediately taken back to the station where they came from and the game is over.

Mass Effect: New Earth is about a 4 minute journey which is definitely worth the wait! It may go by fast, but it is definitely something all riders will enjoy!

Mass Effect: New Earth currently hasn't had large lines unless I have just never been there to see it. I do think a few guests see it false, that it will be just a repeat of Happy Feet: Mubble's Wild Ride, however, this new attraction is certainly unlike anything! I hope it gets its needed attention because it was definitely a great addition!

The theming in Mass Effect: New Earth is definitely unlike any other! Before the ride came, I had heard about the video game, but I wasn't too sure what exactly it was and now the ride gives me an idea as to what it will be with the theming and they did a great job! The outside had great theming with the banners and statues, but the best theming was inside the theater with the feeling of being in a real space shuttle!

The best part that definitely deserves its 100% rating has to be the effects used throughout the ride! The fog outside the theater provides a unique experience and gives a feeling of boarding a real shuttle. During the ride, the scents really give a feeling as if you were in the ride and they also give the idea of what a creature's breath may smell like! The air blows give a feeling of adrenaline when riders are traveling through space and the banging on the asteroids also gives a real feeling!

California's Great America has really outdone themselves with Mass Effect: New Earth! I believe this ride may be one of the most anticipated flat rides of 2016! I highly recommend coming out to the park and experiencing it for yourself as you will NOT be let down for sure!

I really love this attraction and I hope you do too! It has the best theming by far at California's Great America on any ride and I believe it has great potential with its needed attention! It will definitely break the barrier for one of the best rides in the park and I know you will love it for sure. Let me know in the comments what you think of the new ride if you've ridden it, and if you haven't are you excited to check it out one day?
